Photo: Paul M Zenon and Paul Egerton Studio Group artists Mark Selby, Paul Matosic, Paul Watson, Zenon Gradkowski, Liza Aspell, David Questa and Mik Godley amongst others, were at this Autumn's Open Studio. Pictured (Left-To-Right): Paul M. Zenon and Paul Watson.

If you came to the Open Studio then you'll know what was there. If not, then this is what you missed.

Detial of Paul M's polystyrene wallPaul Matosic has constructed an enormous polystyrene wall, atmospherically lit with neon tubes. Amid the formal modular arrangements are cars and townscapes. Best viewed in the dark, this piece became quite a focal-point (along with the wine box) on Friday night for artists and show-goers.

David Questa's paintings depict places and the introspective narratives of people that inhabit them. The viewer becomes an observer within the scene, not involved but present creating the sense of isolation and detachment characteristic of these works. Reminds me of Hopper.

Paul Watson gives glimpses of female figures in some kind of trauma. Rape, murder and violence towards the potrayed women belie a voyeristic sado-masachism. To see more of Paul's stuff, visit his own website - The Lazarus Corporation

Zenon Gradkowski. Is it a pile of internal organs, bio-morphic forms or cute new lifeforms? Who knows? Whatever it may be, these specimins are for your examination hier doktor.

Mik Godley demonstrates how to get your own work in a London gallery along side Damien Hirst & Bridget Riley in these huge prints on paper. I've been taking notes.

Liza Aspell's multi-layered works of figurative abstaction.

Mark Selby. And then there is me. This is my website so if you want to know more just click on the main links.
